Good cooperation starts with a good consultation. As the design and manufacturing of a new packaging solution are very complex procedures, we develop the entire container solution together with the customer.
Development
Packaging development at GIZEH PET - Creative. Functional. Customized.
The basis of our work at GIZEH PET is always your product. We develop a customized packaging solution for each product that is way more than simple functionality. We design PET packaging that not only fulfils the practical requirements, but also perfectly showcases your brand and product.
Our aim is to start where standard solutions don’t suffice. Our experienced development team will support you from the initial idea to the final pack. Together we will find the ideal shape, size and features to suit your product and your brand.
Stages in the packaging production process
GIZEH’s typical packaging production process involves the following stages:
Briefing
Brainstorming
Detailed advice
3D construction and visualization
Generating 3D prototypes
Pilot tool
Tool construction
Series production
Briefing
What does this stage involve?
- Task description
- Recording of all relevant criteria
- Creation of a specification catalog
Brainstorming
It’s time for our team to immerse themselves in the creative process. We analyse competitor products, draw on our expertise in consumer behaviour, check our idea pool and map out a basic, individual concept.
What does this stage involve?
- The creative process, taking brand/product/target audience/market into consideration
- Identifying technical possibilities
Detailed advice
After we have presented our ideas to our customer, we then discuss a wide range aspects in detail: product protection, shelf life, sustainability, legal requirements, filling and logistics processes, usability, costs, and many more. After these discussions, it may become apparent that the container and lid have completely different requirements, for example, meaning that different production processes, as well as different decoration processes, are required.
What does this stage involve?
- Presenting the basic concept
- Demonstrating the technical options
- Defining the technology
3D construction and visualization
We use the latest CAD software so that the highest standards in quality are guaranteed right from the start. During this stage, we also start to align with other partners our customers are working with, such as bottle system manufacturers, foil seal suppliers etc.
What does this stage involve?
- Tool mature construction
- 3D rendering
- Design approval
- Decision on the concept
- Cost-benefit analysis
Generating 3D prototypes
After the final design has been approved, we generate a prototype to bring our idea off the paper and into reality. GIZEH’s own 3D printer can produce a three-dimensional model (in an additive process) and can even faithfully reproduce complex structures.
What does this stage involve?
- Rapid Prototyping
- Presenting the 3D model
- Market tests
Pilot tool
If desired, we can implement pilot production for small batches (e.g. tests for marketing, logistics). Ultimately, the process should result in a product which is ready for series production.
What does this stage involve?
- Presenting a series production-ready model for initial machine testing
- Approval of the final design
Tool construction
This is followed by the complex process of manufacturing a production tool in collaboration with long-standing tool and mould makers. This tool can then be used for industrial series production.
Components of this phase:
- Project monitoring
- Production of a series tool in collaboration with long-standing tool and mould makers
Series production
We put our wealth of extensive experience with various filling processes at our customers’ disposal by providing on-site customer support.
What does this stage involve?
- Internal product approval
- Filling process support
